Saint Ignatius of Loyola Prayer Card — the Suscipe, a prayer of total surrender: "Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will."
This double-sided prayer card pairs striking devotional artwork of Saint Ignatius of Loyola with the Suscipe, his prayer of complete surrender to God — offering up liberty, memory, understanding, and will, and asking for nothing back but love and grace. Written by the founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) as part of his Spiritual Exercises, this prayer is a touchstone for discernment and letting go of control. A meaningful gift for anyone facing a major decision, beginning a discernment process, or seeking to surrender a situation they can't control.
Details
Why you will keep it close
Art that invites you in
Original artwork, not clip art. The kind of image that rewards a second look and steadies your attention when your mind is scattered.
A prayer for the days you have no words
Turn the card over and the prayer is already there, waiting. Solace when you are anxious, strength when you are worn thin, gratitude when you almost forgot.
Printed to be looked at, not squinted at
On 111# matte cover the ink sits crisply on the surface and the finish keeps glare down, so the detail reads clearly under lamplight and candlelight alike.
Sturdy enough for daily carry
Heavy cover stock holds its shape in a bag, a breviary or a coat pocket, so it stays with you instead of staying in a drawer.
A gift that says what you mean
Small, personal and easy to send. For a baptism, a confirmation, a recovery, a goodbye, or simply to let someone know they are being prayed for.
Choosing your set
Good to know
Is the prayer printed on the card?
Yes. Every card is double-sided: artwork on the front, the full prayer on the back.
Will it fit in a wallet?
At 4 × 6 inches it is larger than a standard wallet card. It sits comfortably in a purse, a bag, a missal, a Bible or a journal, and many people frame it or keep it on a nightstand or prayer table.
Is it glossy?
No. The matte cover stock was chosen on purpose: less reflection, better contrast, and a softer feel in the hand.
Can I mix different cards in one set?
Each set contains the design shown on this page. If you would like a mixed set for a parish or an event, send us a message and we will help you put it together.
Do you offer a digital version?
Our focus here is on physical prints. If you are looking for a digital download of one of our pieces, send us a message and we will point you to the right option.
